I obtained my Master's Degree of Science in Instructional Design & Technology at California State University, Fullerton in May 2021 where I maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout the entirety of the program. To meet the requirements of the program I developed an e-Learning module for LGBTQ youth mental healthcare providers with the goal of improving their understanding of the needs of their LGBTQ youth patients. In addition, I wrote a five chapter paper detailing the development of this e-Learning module.
Before that, I earned my Bachelor's of Art degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Inequalities at California State University, Fullerton. Studying Sociology and Social Inequalities fulfilled my passion for research and how societal structures impact individuals and marginalized populations.
Since graduating from CSU Fullerton I have worked with a number of organization where I have planned, designed, developed, and implemented training programs to meet their distinct business needs. I have partnered with a variety of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to take complex subjects and created a wide variety of learning objects using multiple modalities to meet the needs of the learners and the stakeholders.
Prior to my position as an Instructional Designer I have worked as a Recruiting Coordinator for Pacific Dental Services which is, oddly enough, where I developed my passion for instructional design. In my role I was able to develop from the ground up a training program for the Recruiting Coordinator role to set up new hires for success. Before Pacific Dental Services, I worked as an Assistant Manager at Vetco Veterinary Clinics for 12 years where I led a team of 25 team members. In this role, I was in charge of onboarding new team members, facilitating trainings, and deploying the newly developed electronic medical record system.
