This interactive eLearning module was the first learning object that I developed as part of my coursework for the Masters of Instructional Design & Technology program at California State University, Fullerton.
Target Audience: Middle School/High School Teachers
Responsibilities: Instructional Design, eLearning Development, & Storyboarding
Tools Used: Adobe Captivate (2019)
Year: 2019
For the development of this learning object I knew that I wanted to select a topic that was (1) a subject that I am familiar with and (2) a subject that I was passionate about. What I decided on was a topic that I had previously researched during my undergraduate studies: mental health disorders.
For this module I wanted to focus on depression among the teenage population as the symptoms of depression can be hiding in plain sight. Taking into consideration that teenagers spend a majority of their time in school I felt that it would be important to develop a learning module that provides teachers with the knowledge necessary to spot signs of depression since teachers spend so much time with their students.

Working on this project really reinforced my passion for developing meaningful instructional material for a wider audience. This project really pushed me to quickly develop my skills with Adobe Captivate and my overall skills as an instructional designer.
